Berry picking attempt no.1

Just the other day we ( JH, Jenzi, Stace and I ) had an idea to go berry picking in a forest identified by Jenzi. Our fun sounding activity turned out to be hiking in the woods with 10000 mosquito bites and picking of dangerous berries that we didnt even know was edible or not. Needless to say it was still fun plucking strange blueberry lookalikes and trying to convince ourselve it was blueberry.
Everyone being fascinated by the woods
Hiking made easy, with wooden planks for you to follow! Only in Sweden
Look how prepared Jenzi is, slippers and all.
Our precious berries (which turned out to be inedible)
Moss cushioned forest, its like walking on sponge
shrooms. Dont eat these. or actually i dont know
 The trees are all around!
Stacy and her obsession with instagraming everything.
The newspaper is for collecting berries kachang puteh style
 another instagram opportunity
If you could sleep here would you?
We chanced upon this scout camping site in the middle of the forest
Its empty but looks like it can house alot of little scouts
Okay Jenzi told us there was a reservoir waiting to be found and all we got was a swamp.
Kinda reminded me of the movie Swamp Thing, where a monster lurks beneath the waters.

It really looks scary in the day so i guess at night when the scouts go missing, they know which pool to look out for
Inspecting if it was safe to swim inside, if we could do 25m dives
Jenzi's true feelings about stacy, and JH's too
Its strange how it ended so abruptly, like it was a mistake to even build this little platform

Okay we thought these were blueberries so we were plucking them real happily, until JH squished one and it had this nasty smell gosh

 Look at our loot
Exploiting nature for good photos everyday

I dont know why but i guess this kinda looks like an enormous hand
That was the end of our short lived berry picking adventure. We really had no idea which were the correct berries thus we ended up with no edible ones. So guys and gals, remmeber to do your research before you go out in the woods to pluck berries. Those stories where people chance upon wild raspberries are just stories most of the time you get weird looking shrooms and fungi.

Gota Canal, the pride of linkoping

About a week back JH and I decided to go and visit Gota Canal! It was at Berg which takes really long to cycle there so we took a bus from linkoping central and it was only 15 minutes there about. Gota Canal is like one of the 8 attractions here in linkoping as promoted by trip advisor. Running out of things to try and do, going to the canal seemed like a good option on a weekend.

This is linkoping central station! It is like the bus terminal and also the train station. Basically if you want to get out of linkoping you have to come here first
This distinctly yellow building is it! you cant miss it amongst the lower buildings surrounding it
This is berg! ok it looks like just rows of random houses but yes berg is a really quiet town, much like many parts of linkoping
Waters! my spidey sense tells me the canal is nearby
The canal!! the canal locks is the angular bridge on the right and there are like houses built really near the canal which makes it so cool! I love the houses here
What happens is that this bridge can be folded to the side for the boat to go across
Ice cream shop on the right, river on the left, how much more can i ask
From one lock to another! Its actually elevated from one lock to another. WATERFALL WOOT
Postcard worthy i tell u lololol, but as you can see there are many locks down this canal. The person on the left is for u to scale how big the lock is hahahaha
 JH looking happy
i am happy too! notice how i have to wear a hoodie cause i am so frail. cant stand the cold
 Noah's ark
some pictures the water looks blue but this picture shows the true colour, botanic gardens green
 Locks, locks everywhere
I am brave, i take out camera on bridge risking it falling into the abyss

Direct all questions on how the lock works to this notice board
Im still finding the chinese translation
 The canal stretches forever
 and ever
 and ever
mini golf course there too! we actually came back to play it haahhaha

Mini golf course and ice cream shop!! actually i took this picture for the dog. I LOVE DOGS
Kudos to JH for this amazing pic woot woot

The canal is really really long
Me and my basket i bought at a flea market before this

This is how a boat goes through!
 Lai ah lai ah, everyone
The canal leads to the sea, the baltic sea i guess
In sweden you can picnic everywhere and its really nice, look at this spot damn. Singapore your marina barrage also lose out ah

People actually drive here with caravans to stay the day, just reading or just talking.

 Ducks, Ducks everywhere

BBQ pit that appeared in the middle of nowhere. It would be really cool if we could BBQ here for the night but unfortunately the buses here dont run till late its too far to come and bbq for the night :(

 MINI GOLF!
And ice cream of course, everyone loves ice cream
 Old man photobomb me

I love how even though this canal lock is not like some million dollar project but still people come and have fun together. Mini Golf and picnics are fun enough. Sometimes in Singapore i feel i always have to pay for some attraction so that i feel that i have done something fun but in fact here in sweden most of the trips i make out, be it hiking or going to the lake is free but yet it is fun. I am learning how to take a slower pace here too, sometimes a whole day can just be for one activity and i used to think thats a waste of time but now i see the value in just taking your time to do that one activity and be in the moment. I feel more at rest here and without any homework plaguing me i feel like staying here if only they had beehoon.
